The Canadian Railway Convention is sponsored by the Canadian Association of Railway Modellers and works in co-operation with other groups. In the past we have worked with the Canadian Railway Historical Association, the Canadian National Lines Special Interest Group, the Canadian Pacific Historical Association, the Toronto, Hamilton and Buffalo Historical Association and others to bring one of the finest railway conventions to all of their memberships.
Each year the convention is moved to different locations across Canada. This is only possible due to the dedication of members from each of the involved groups. The first convention was held in 2004 in St. Catharine's, Ontario. The conventions or Super Meets happen most years by one or more of the above groups taking the lead in planning and delivering an interesting and varied program. The conventions are not a cookie cutter pattern from one to the next as each organizing group puts their own spin on the convention. This keeps the program evolving and fresh each and every year.

Even though these conventions are for the above groups they are not a closed conventions meaning that anyone can who can attend is welcomed. No membership in one or more of the above groups is required but it is hoped that if you enjoy your experience at the convention you will take the opportunity to talk to members from the different groups and possibly consider joining one or more of the groups. Memberships in all of the groups are available.
