Welcome to the Members Only Area

This area of the website is dedicated to members of CARM and in here CARM members can find added benefits that can only be found here. This area is divided into the following sections.

The Canadian

In this section is a complete archive of the newsletters, publications, of the organization. Each newsletter has been modified slightly from the original printed version to include colour images and graphics that have been optimized for the internet. Feel free to view, download or print any of the issues.

Member Meetings

This section contains a list of meetings for members. These include online and in person meetings on both national and local levels. Check back monthly for updates.

Chapter Info

This contains documents related to forming and managing a chapter.

Toronto Chapter

This section contains the Toronto Chapter's "What are you working on?" newsletters. Each has photos and brief descriptions of what chapter members are working on. Feel free to view, download or print any of the issues.

Members Layouts

This is a showcase of layouts that belong to our membership. Most of these can be viewed if you are in the area and contact the owner, another member, and make the needed arrangements. Each layout includes some basic information about the layout and up to three images to whet your appetite. The are listed by province then city to make your searching a bit easier. Also included is a telephone number and/or an e-mail address if the owner wishes to include it. If you do manage to visit any of the layouts be sure to be gracious and pleasant as we am sure your host will be.

Members Websites

This is a list of member's personal websites.

Prototype Archives

This is new and will be growing as images and descriptions are added. In the archives your could find anything related to railroading in Canada. It can include the usual such as locomotives, rolling stock, passenger equipment, stations, signals, railcars or anything else. This area will need a lot of input from the membership to make this a great feature. Each image will be saved as a small image to allow for easy searching and a large image will also be available to view, download and print for your own non-commercial use. If you wanted to use an image as part of a presentation, book or other commercial use we strongly suggest that you contact the original submitter of the image to get that permission. Most images used in commercial material will require formal permission and compensation. If you would like to submit images for use in this area use the "Submit Image Form" in that section.

Expanded Articles

This is a chance for you to submit your articles that you think that will be useful to the membership and it can include extra images, extra text, charts, maps, drawings, et cetera that would not normally fit into an article for a publication like the newsletter. Printed publications only have a given amount of space that can be dedicated to an article so here is your chance to be heard on any topic that fits within the organization.

Canadate Messages for the position of Director

Mike Walton
A railway modeller for about 60 years and a member of CARM since its founding. I live in Acton which enables me to participate in both the Toronto and SWO district activities. I’m a proficient modeller in most aspects of the hobby ranging from clockwork to radio controlled live steam. I have a large OO gauge layout on which up to 12 operators have fun monthly. I am an active member of several railway modeling societies. I’m a founding member of the Platelayer’s Society and I have served on the executive for about 20 years in various roles. I am an Aerospace Engineer with a very broad range of hands-on experience. Jack of all trades and master of none. The last few years before my retirement were spent in program management. I would now like to support the executive with my model railway engineering and administrative skills.
Cheers Mike
